Url naslov in kako ga SEO optimizirati

In the next guide, we’ll walk you through the topic of urls and how to best optimize them for search engines as well as for users. We will discuss good practices and also give you some tips that you can implement immediately on your website.

URL ( uniform resource locator ) is the most basic element of search engine optimization, but still vital for high rankings. Url length is ranked 46th in Google’s top 200 ranking factors. Url Pod is ranked 47th and the keyword in url is ranked 51st, which is why a well-optimized url is so important.

What is a URL?

URL is the shortest draft web content . Therefore, it should describe the content as concisely as possible.
Users should easily understand where the site is located and what it is about.

Website security and ssl certificates

To break down and describe just the structure of a URL, let’s stop at the basics: the two most important tags for us are:

  • http (hyper txt transfer protocol) in
  • https (hyper txt transfer protocol secure)

The difference between them is that https uses an encrypted SSL (secure socket lair) certificate, which encrypts the data and thus protects it from malicious intentional data theft and intrusion into the website. Because Google is committed to the security and well-being of its users, the security of a website is critical to the higher ranking of pages in their search engine.

We recommend: If you do not yet have an active SSL certificate (https) on the website , check with your ISP and activate the free certificate on your server provided by your operator.

Now that we’ve taken care of the security of our website, we can look at other URL link factors that are important for website optimization.

The most important factors to look out for

  • Of course, the most basic is to include the keyword (and its synonyms) in the url itself. This tells Google and our users what the content of the selected page is about.
  • URL as description – Use url as a short description of the content of the selected page. Try to describe the content of the page in the title in the shortest and clearest possible way ( eg: domain / seo-trends-2019 )
  • Use – During our research, we also found the use of underscores and hyphens . The difference between them is that Google – (hyphen) reads as a space; _ (underline) as a hyphen. Therefore, we recommend that only (hyphens) be used for domain spaces.

Errors we detected

1. Php generated web addresses

Such titles tend to contain unrelated letters and numbers that are not readable or clear to search engines or users. Our suggestion is to structure the URL in the way
domain / category / sub-category / article
This is the only way Google and your users will always know where they are.

>

2. Too long URLs

Many times we find ourselves on a web address that would take up so many lines of Word document – which is very bad for sharing links, as well as the user experience itself. Try to keep the url length to a maximum of 100 letters .

3. Dynamically generated parameters

As with the php generated url, the generated parameters are displayed in the path, such as: sort by, section ID, etc.
Here, too, we recommend that you follow the URL structure rules, according to the domain / category / mode. sub-category / article.

4. Include special characters

Do not include special characters in the url (& lt ;, & gt ;,%, #, [], {}, »)

5. Connecting words

Try to avoid connecting words in the url. The new Google update has already fixed contextual issues, but there is still a big problem in understanding the content. So avoid connecting words like: z, and, or, and, etc ..)

6. Rehearse (repeat) keywords

We found duplicate keywords in many pages in the URL:
www.domena.si/denarnice/usneje-denarnice</:1/velike-denarnice . Sometimes unconsciously, sometimes consciously. On e-commerce sites, this mistake is repeated many times and is also inevitable many times. But if we have the opportunity, we try to avoid it.

Knowledge: so to sum up; When setting up or optimizing a website url, include a keyword (for which you want to rank the page) that will describe and present all the content on the selected page.

So, another successful full article that gives you a lot of clues and information about what a URL is and something about its use. If you would like to learn more about the general optimization of your website or would just like to get information, see our GUIDE < / a>.
